Players direct troops to shoot at the indicated target. Click a troop icon to choose the army and position it in the desired location. When enemies are spotted, players take aim and fire at themselves. Your army needs careful protection: buy shield and other items in the game store. To ensure protection, use straight lines or Z formations for your armies. Boxes contain three soldiers, which can be destroyed with enemy attacks. Buy more powerful equipment with diamonds earned after each level. By purchasing additional equipment, your troops and weapons become even more powerful.

If you're new to the game, early levels are easy. But later levels are more challenging and require more preparation. The monster's health decreases as the game progresses; if you defeat it fast in the beginning, you will receive high praise. Monsters grow stronger and don't need any food. They can move around, strike your troops and resist damage. Additionally, they sometimes choose to attack you instead of you attacking them. Deflect their attacks and target their weak points— accuracy is key!

Age of Galaxy has thousands of levels. Many of these levels have different maps that include deserts, rivers and buildings. Each map will have a different enemy that changes with each new level. Players can also find diamonds by exploring the levels. This game is an effective way to relieve stress because it doesn't require an internet connection or any monetary payment. You can easily clear each level by using your strategic genius army formation.

Consider a battle plan to beat the enemy. During combat, the number of soldiers placed in a given box is limited. Each box holds three soldiers. Your enemies are fierce and powerful — they have more health, can attack you and even move. The game's old-fashioned art style features a wide variety of different maps. Gems allow the player to upgrade weapons and battle armies. They must collect additional gems each time they level up. ———

The game is a retro-like 8-bit game, so it is not pretty and it has no fancy animations. This is a pure gameplay-oriented turn based strategy.
