In The Girl Adrift, the protagonist is a cute child who floats from one body of water to another in a miniature raft. She drifts through a world that has been flooded by water. Fishing is the protagonist's main task, and the more fish she catches the better. This story is light and carefree, without a fussy plot.

You can catch three types of fish in the game. Each one has a specific skin color; they are Boss, Rare and Normal fish. Fishing provides you with fishcakes and other rewards depending on the type of fish you catch. Different fish skins give you different rewards; some reward points, while others provide experience points. Fishing nets offer many rewards: pearls, seaweed and wood. You can exchange these items for a variety of equipment in the harbor, which increases your character's experience, attack rate and chance to catch rare fish.

While traveling by sea, you may come across drifters on your journey. They will assign the player various activities that yield many valuable rewards, such as pearls and other currencies. At level 10, a special tool is unlocked for the player that allows them to damage sea life without touching the screen. In order to create a game that is appealing to the public, the game developers need to understand the players and their needs. This is why there are many customizable skins for your character available for purchase. Additionally, you can customize your raft to fit your personal style.

A cataclysmic event appears at the beginning of A Girl Adrift. The world is suffering from a variety of natural disasters as the event envelops the entire universe. Starting out with a small fishing rod, you travel the ocean looking for larger fish to catch. As mutations occur in the ocean's inhabitants, you set out to battle the tides.

As you can see on the left, an aid or helper makes its appearance. Also known as a fish finder, this yellow object can expedite fishing. It shows up in any relief or aid bags flying through your screen.

The backpack on the right contains information about the ocean wildlife inside. When you defeat a specific hard-to-find boss or rare monster, you have the option to either smuggle the creatures or sell them. In ports, you can pick up any fish parts that end up dropping. This includes the animal carcasses that you fish out of the water. Except for rational creatures, who can only retrieve specific pieces.

Fishing or completing other activities increases the green bar. Once the green bar reaches 100%, the player must continue to level up. At this point, the player has finished with the bottom line, level and experience levels. A high level of experience provides more points. Doing different things or taking simple steps will grant you higher levels of experience. When you see the time bar on the right side of the experience bar, you know that the app is running. This means that you’ve completed everything in the experience.

By pressing the rank button and selecting the option where a star and a fish appear, users are transported to the Fish Lens. This will display a rare, standard or boss fish, respectively. Bosses present a significant challenge to hunters. They usually make an appearance when the hunting party detects a skull-shaped icon appear on the in-game map next to a specific location on a particular level. However, these can be difficult to locate since they often appear at the highest levels of the game. During casual matches, you can easily fish up the rare and regular version of any monster. If a high-leveled monster is in red on their health bar, you can't hunt it at that time. When searching for a more difficult to find version of a monster, be careful not to get caught up in a difficult fight.

By pressing the “Rank” area, you’ll learn how many ranks you have. This reveals what prizes and limits rank advancement brings along with it. We need to make note that the scope and range vary. Levels increase as the experience bar fills, but a field doesn't affect level like the level affects field. It's completely different since it takes time to increase. We don't know if there's a certain level to progress through each rank or if certain activities are needed to progress. Currently, the maximum class limit is 45, and standard is about +4000.
