# A prequel to Lapse: A Forgotten Future created by the artist is considered an accurate depiction of the story.

The next version of Lapse: A Forgotten Future will replace the test version. The first game in this series is the official next version of Lapse. This means that it will maintain all the features of the previous version without changing much. However, the game will only change context— it won’t alter any other aspects of the story. If players completed the previous version by protecting or destroying the world, then they should consider playing this new version. Don't get too stressed about it; if you're interested in the subject, that's all you need to know. The player will now visit Egypt in the past. There is no need to worry about destroying the past when trying to become a future time traveler. Creating a separate timeline allows you to freely record any history you wish. For example, the last time you were a talented president was during the reign of pharaoh Amon of Egypt. In the sequel, the robots from the past arrived to help you with heavy labor. They became capable assistants or loyal allies once they learned about the first part of the game. Many of their questions still remained after completing that section of the game.

# Gameplay

You enter this game without realizing it and wake up with an intense inner monologue. When you spend a long time awake, you transition into the past era of mankind. In ancient Egypt, the game starts when you open your eyes. This has happened at 1750 BC, and the country in need of help is Egypt. Someone in the country believes that they need the wisdom and power of a mighty king. The game's cards will resemble a dating app called Tinder. Each one represents a person who stands in front of Pharaoh. Like Tinder, players can swipe through several cards before choosing one. A High Priest, Astrologer or Dancer could report different news to the public. They represent their respective professions by advising the king on how to make the public happy. Officials provide wise advice and prophets deliver god’s message to the public.

In order to keep their country functioning, players must find a way to balance Religion, Population, Money and War. By maintaining this balance, players can continue to operate their country. The timeline continues to deteriorate if the temporal order is disrupted. The state will inevitably descend into chaos if the time lines aren’t properly aligned. To prevent this from happening, maintain your temporal position as long as possible by striving to extend your reign. Lapse 2: Before Zero is the official prequel to Lapse: A Forgotten Future. That you are here means, in some way, you were successful in your quest to save the world – or to destroy it. Doesn't really matter which, since you're about to travel from a future world into the ancient times. The one who once was President is now Pharaoh, the one who once was a machine is now your most precious ally in the challenge to come.

When you open your eyes, the year is 1750 BC, and the place is ancient Egypt. For some unknown reason, this mysterious land needs your help. Proceed cautiously: what may seem like ruling just another kingdom, may well be the key to the world's survival.

Lapse 2: Before Zero answers the players' questions, revealing the mysteries of the first chapter.
