The game Reigns places the player in the role of benevolent or evil medieval king in modern times. Players move the thumb on their controller left or right to swipe their king's fingers up or down. Then, they press X to implement their will on the kingdom. The queen constantly receives overtures of animosity from her subjects. Players must simultaneously balance the needs and demands of farmers, allies and advisors without derailing the progress of their nation due to conflicting factions.

The series takes place in a fantasy world where players take on the role of a beautiful queen. During gameplay, the player should fight off invasion plots from allies surrounding them as the queen. Additionally, female players have more motivation to continue playing the game because their jobs are to take over a kingdom. When a queen dies, a new king is crowned each year. This replacement process is similar to how you began playing the game. This installment of the video game series usually has a nice ending, but it revolves around a zodiac. Therefore, players must deal with some difficulty while completing the stages in the game.

They can swipe right or left to discard cards they don't like. Additionally, unlocking specific paths in each story requires the player to take on increasingly more perplexing tasks.

New cards appear as players participate in events and dramas. Also, different dramas appear in a new kingdom. Therefore, the player can’t predict what will appear in his court. Placing specific goals at the center of the overall experience unlocks new decks and helps players decide new paths for their court. However, players need to be careful when making choices because the game requires intelligent decision-making. People constantly need to find a way to balance their court's political factions as they progress through the game. This is because stupid political decisions follow the player throughout the game.
