The story of Soul of Yokai revolves around a female lead who is heartbroken after breaking up with her significant other. Since then, her heart has been completely shattered and she has no hope left. However, she comes across Japanese legend's yokai one day and can choose to enter a whole new world. Her choices along the way bring her into the realm of challenge and adventure. In this otome game, the player falls in love with one of the characters. Additionally, each character in the game belongs to a different yokai tribe: Tengu, Yukiotoko and Oni. The player must choose between them as the female lead marries each of them. Three tribes in particular present compelling physical appearances: Tengu, Yukiotoko and Oni.
