Nearby are bats and eagles that can fight back if threatened. Only a clever person can take advantage of the opportunity to touch the statue. Doing so increases the chances of survival in this world. That day has arrived and you possess the idol— you are on your way to escaping this haunted temple.

While fleeing from the appearances of evil, you hold on to a statuette of the divine. This indicates that an idol empowers you— and now you face those monstrosities in combat. New roads provide additional routes to explore. Collect coins as you travel, because each one adds to your overall holdings. Additional coins also allow access to more private paths. Once these paths are unlocked, you can choose to return to your previous existence. To successfully complete a Temple Run, you must use your strength to run while maintaining composure. Some parts of the running path may be obstructed by holes or dangerous obstacles that force you to run around them. Life's challenges can quickly kill someone who isn't mindful. By toughening your nerves and persevering, you can overcome this peril and continue on your path to success.

The plot behind Temple Run is that a band of explorers entered an ancient forest and stole a statue of a deified god from a cursed temple.
