Construct an airplane garage that many people admire through accumulation of fighters. When in combat, the current stats of both players and enemies are displayed on the screen. A radar is included in the upper-right corner of the game to track enemy flights. When an enemy plane approaches you on radar, you'll see a display light up and glow with numbers indicating the number of your aircraft and the plane's position. Whoever destroyed more planes first loses the competition. There is a mode in which the enemy base must be destroyed 5v5. This can be accomplished by attacking key locations with grenades or bombs.

In the second world war, modern planes don't exist. Instead, players can use WW2 fighter planes during combat or bombing situations. Two military planes painted in moss green with sharks' molars on each wing. Both planes feature blue, black and white stripes with a red circle nested inside a blue circle. Classified as a blurred patch with four propeller tips, the plane's camouflage resembles a dense green moss or lichen. Its odd shape makes it inconspicuous even in wooded areas.

Players can upgrade the stats of their planes to increase the likelihood of winning. When returning their planes to the garage for maintenance, keep an eye on the aircraft's indicators to upgrade each one. In Wings of Heroes, players can't upgrade the entire plane— they can only upgrade specific indicators. Additional ability and speed are achieved by upgrading the engine. Additional missiles are fired when upgrading the engine for a missile launcher. By removing impurities from the aircraft's materials, it becomes more resistant to damage when struck by enemy bullets. Continuously maintaining the propellers allows the aircraft to maintain its orbit while simultaneously being flexible during flight.

Ace Mode Domination, Annihilation and Dogfight are included with the game. Players can explore four main game modes while playing the game. Domination mode is where players capture and control all the control points on the map to win. Ace Mode Domination requires accurate aim when the aircrafts auto-aiming mode is unavailable. Also, earning XP and rewards in this mode proves challenging. However, this difficulty increases with the disabling of Ace Mode Domination. In Dogfight mode, players face off against the opposing team in a 5v5 battle. Annihilation mode wins when players eliminate all enemy control points without killing any planes. Various maps in Wings of Heroes need to be explored by players. Different weather and time zones exist between different regions. Some maps feature a large desert located under hot weather conditions with high humidity. Participating in Wings of Heroes mod adds extra power to WW2's aerial fights.
